Monday, June 16, 2008 – North Little Rock, AR – John W. Hartley, Jr., president and CEO of Dickinson Theatres, Inc.,
announced today that plans have been completed and a lease has been signed to take over the Lakewood 8 Theatre
in North Little Rock and begin operations on June 27th, 2008.
“We are very excited about this acquisition, especially on the heels of our spectacular opening of the Chenal 9 PLUS IMAX Theatres,”
commented John Hartley, president and CEO. “We have plans to install digital projectors with 3D capabilities to meet the demand
for the latest technology for our movie-going customers. We will enlarge and remodel the lobby, remodel the restrooms, and
also add stadium seating to some of the existing auditoriums. Additional theatres are being negotiated. We also plan to expand the
box office and concession stand facilities to better serve our customers in North Little Rock. We would like to express our appreciation
to Mr. Rick Ashley of Ashley Development Company who partnered with us on this project. The expansion and the related improvements
will cost several million dollars. The renovation of the facility will begin in the late Fall of 2008. Plans are currently being drawn and will
be submitted to the city shortly by Dickinson’s architectural firm,” Hartley continued.
