Manga inspired by Astro Boy, this new series will tell the story of a world where robots live with humans.

“Why do robots cry?” Taking the basis ofAstro the little robot by Osamu Tezuka (1964), the writer Naoki Urasawa and Osamu Tezuka imagined Pluto in 2003, a manga in a detective/thriller style, about the coexistence between humans and androids. Netflix is adapting it into an animated series and today revealed a new trailer:

The story will take us into a world “perfectly controlled where robots are incapable of killing human beings, murder is committed. The investigation is entrusted to a robot, Inspector Gesicht from Europol. But the mystery thickens when he finds no trace of humans at the crime scene. As he advances in his investigations, Gesicht will discover a manifestation of hatred determined to destroy the world, the most diabolical that history has ever seen…”

Series Pluto will be available on Thursday October 26, 2023, only on Netflix.

Produced by Takashi Nagasaki and supervised by Macoto Tezka, with the cooperation of Tezuka Productions, Pluto is directed by Toshio Kawaguchi.
