A new NCIS series about Gibbs' youth!

A new NCIS series about Gibbs’ youth!

Mark Harmon returns… to narrate his character’s beginnings as an investigator.

After Young Sheldon, here is Young Gibbs! While the saga NCIS arrives somewhat out of breath, that the original cast has entirely disappeared and that the spin-off Los Angeles has just ended, the American channel CBS is preparing the sequel. There is no question of doing without the saga. So she has just ordered a brand new series: NCIS: Origins !

It will be devoted to the emblematic character of the office, namely Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Mark Harmon for more than 20 years and an episode of season 8 of JAG… The story will take place in 1991 and will tell how Gibbs took his first steps as an investigator as ” new special agent at the brand new NCIS office at Camp Pendleton, where he will carve out a place for himself in a motley and courageous team led by the legend of NCISMike Franks.

Little bonus: Mark Harmon, left in 2021, will be back in the credits! Not to embody a digitally rejuvenated Gibbs (phew!) but to narrate the adventures of his character, recount his genesis himself.

Sean Harmonthe son of Mark Harmonwho had the idea of NCIS: Origins, will serve as executive producer, alongside his father and co-showrunners Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North. Sean Harmon had already played, in the past, a young version of his father’s character, four times in NCIS (in seasons 4, 6, 9 and 18). But it is not he who will play the leading role of NCIS: Origins. A new actor will be hired to take over Giggs. We don’t know who yet.

“The character of Gibbs has played an important role in my life for 20 years, both watching my father create the role and having the honor of playing young Gibbs myself”, confides Sean Harmon. “I always thought there was a story worth telling about his early years, so I’m thrilled to be able to tell this story that will reveal a new side of this beloved character.”

No date yet. NCIS: Origins will be the 6th spin-off of the saga NCIS.
