A thriller for Ridley Scott after Napoleon and Gladiator 2

Bomb! The English filmmaker is going to shoot a heist film.

He will abandon costumes and swords. After having made a series of historical films in recent years, Last Duel has Napoleon Passing by Gucci, Ridley Scott will return to contemporary thriller.

According to Deadline, 20th Century Studios has put a lot of money into acquiring the English filmmaker’s next project, once it has been completed. Gladiator 2. The studio has overtaken nine other (!) competitors and streamers for the rights to the film adaptation of a short story called Bomb and written by Kevin McMullin. Ridley Scott has signed on to direct the project from a script written by McMullin and will also serve as producer. The amount of the deal would be around one million dollars.

In the vein of a Speed (1994) or A dog’s afternoon (1975), the story of Bomb talks about a negotiator, Frankie Ippolito, who will have to manage a hostage situation on the eve of his wedding. The synopsis states: “A man walks into a construction site in Piccadilly Circus in the heart of London and stands on top of a recently discovered World War II bomb. He tells local law enforcement that he will only speak to Frankie, which sets off a chain of events where Frankie is drawn into a night fight to stop this suicide bomber he knows…”
