The huge budget of The Marvels revealed: a new flop in sight for the MCU?

After 31 films and 25 series, Kevin Feige believes he has “barely scratched the surface” of the Marvel universe

The boss of the MCU assures him: the saga is far from over.

Did you say superhero fatigue? Kevin Feige doesn’t even know what you’re talking about! Fifteen years after the debut of the MCU (with Iron Man in 2008), the producer behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe has already released 31 films in theaters, developed 25 series for television and later earned Disney nearly $30 billion. But he is not at all preparing for the end of the MCU. Kevin Feige explains in Variety:

“What’s great about Marvel is really how many wonderful, interesting characters we have access to potentially in the comics. It’s something that people have been working on for 85 years. So even after 31 films, we feels like we’ve barely scratched the surface…”

We understand that MCU films and series will continue to flourish on screens around the world in the years to come. To start with The Marvels next month, the 32nd part of the MCU… A dozen more are already scheduled until 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars.

“I feel so lucky to be able to do this work”jubilant Kevin Feige, not at all tired of the job. “At each costume fitting, when we see the actors transform for the first time, there is always this moment of amazement. It’s so incredible to take these characters and bring them to life on screen.”

Two films hold a special place in the producer’s memory: “Being there, in a cinema, during the opening night of Avengers: Endgame, hearing the crowd, it’s something I will never forget. And then all the feedback we received after the release from Black Panther… Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would have this kind of impact.”
