After Baymax, Kyan Khojandi doubles Garfield (trailer)

“Little cat will get big”, laughs the hook of this new animated film, dubbed in original version by Chris Pratt.

Garfield, the famous indoor cat who loves lasagna and hates Mondays, is about to be taken on a crazy adventure! After finding his missing father, Vic, a scruffy street cat, Garfield and his dog friend Odie are forced to leave their life of comfort to help Vic carry out a burglary that is as risky as it is hilarious.

That's it, the French team has found Garfield's new voice. After a first trailer in original version of this “Hero in spite of himself” designed by Mark Dindal (already behind the excellent Kuzco), we learn via this new montage that it is Kyan Khojandi who will be the VF voice actor of the greedy cat.

In its American version, it was Chris Pratt (also the voice of Mario in last year's hit animated film), who took on this task. He is surrounded by Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein and Bowen Yang.

Created in 1978 by Jim Davis, this very popular comic book character has already been brought to the screen with Bill Murray dubbing, in 2004 and 2006. At the time, it was the animator Cauet who was hired for the VF. Michel Dodane (known for Peter and Brian Griffin in the eponymous series) succeeded him on Come back, Garfielda DTV from 2007, then Gérard Surugue (Bugs Bunny since 1996) was chosen for Garfield and co. one year later.

Kyan Khojandi, the creator of Briefalready has some experience in dubbing: since The New Heroes, released ten years ago in cinemas, it is he who does the French voice of Baymax, the very endearing robot in the animated film from Disney studios. He returned last year to dub this character in the short film Once upon a time there was a studio, designed for the group's 100th anniversary. We also heard it in Sugarland Or Flee.

Garfield: Hero Despite him will be released in theaters on July 17.
