After killer Winnie the Pooh, its creator prepares creepy Peter Pan and Bambi

The creators of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 1 and 2 detail the making of this horrific saga, which will soon have funny spin-offs.

With a budget of only $100,000, the bloody first opus Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was successful enough for a sequel to be ordered…with a budget 10 times larger. It must be said that the British director Rhys Frake-Waterfield hit the nail on the head by invoking the universal figure of the teddy bear popularized by Disney, to make him a frightening killer.

The appropriation of this tender silhouette from childhood, diverted into a nightmarish context, turns out to be an idea greatly appreciated by the public. With limited resources, the film was able to stand out thanks to its innovative screenplay – its worldwide box office score amounted to 6 million dollars, which is a great success for a film shot in 10 days in the Ashdown Forest. Produced by Jagged Edge Productions in association with ITN Studios, the sequel features a new cast, including British actor Simon Callow, Tallulah Evans, Scott Chambers, Ryan Olivia And Peter DeSouza-Feighoney (The Vatican Exorcist).

The Hollywood Reporter revealed for the first time the evil bear who will come to terrorize the cottages. And above all gave voice to its creators, who detail that today they want to decline this idea with other childish characters: Peter Pan and Bambi.

We can easily guess the increase in financial investment in the new bear’s mouth. No more plastic mask, sequel promises a more detailed and realistic protagonist. The original costume cost around $770, and the new one clocks in at $20,000.

“I devoted myself entirely to this project this year, explain Rhys Frake-Waterfield. This is also the reason why there is a clear improvement between the first and second films. For example, the appearance of creatures is much more important. The first monster cost us $770 but this time we worked with professionals – a company that worked on Voldemort in Harry Potter and on Star Wars. They took it upon themselves to redefine the design of the monster, which is why Winnie looks scarier. There is additional definition of details…”

After Winnie the Pooh, Bambi will be the star of a horror film!

The producer Scott Jeffrey is excited about this new film. He also affirms the desire to carry out other cinematographic projects linking horror and childhood figures. When the journalist openly asks the question, he answers bluntly:

“That’s absolutely the idea. I want each of these films to interact with each other. There will be easter eggs in Winnie The Pooh 2 about upcoming films that I haven’t announced yet. Little winks. I push back Peter Pan to April and I plan to shoot Bambi in January. We’re organizing our calendars right now – it’s going to be great!”

Winnie the Pooh: Blood & Honey 2 should come out in February 2024.
