After Poor Creatures, Yorgos Lanthimos presents his new film with Emma Stone
Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley will also appear in this three-part film.
His new film, Poor Creatures, has not even yet been released in our French cinemas that Yorgos Lanthimos is already speaking out about his next feature film, Kinds of Kindness (which was originally titled AND), in an interview for The Guardian. This new project was filmed in New Orleans during post-production of Poor Creatures. The director describes it as “three films” in one.
“It’s a contemporary film set in the United States – three different stories with four or five actors playing a role in each story, so they’re all playing three different roles. It’s almost like making three films”, explains the Greek filmmaker.

Kinds of Kindness is already shaping up to be the fourth collaboration between Lanthimos And Emma Stone After The Favoritethe short movie Bleat (with Damien Bonnard) and Poor Creatures. William Dafoe And Margaret Qualleyalso in the casting of Poor Creaturesare also in the project. Jesse Plemons, Hunter Schafer And Hong Chau will sign their first collaboration with the director of The Lobster.
Yorgos Lanthimos announced that the film “is filmed and we started editing.” He adds : “Emma is wonderful to work with, it’s so much easier when there is someone who trusts you, and who you trust.”
Poor Creatures is a feminine Frankenstein, in which Emma Stone plays Bella, a young woman whose brain is that of a child after being brought back to life by a mad scientist played by William Dafoe. During a fabulous journey, she will learn and discover her identity through her encounters and experiences. Poor Creatures hits theaters on January 17.
