In competition for the San Sebastián Festival, The Successor addresses the turning point in the life of a fashion designer after the death of his father.
As artistic director of a famous Haute Couture house, Ellias is a happy and accomplished man. However, this comfortable situation is overturned by a dramatic event. Ellias’ father dies after suffering a heart attack. Ellias finds himself obliged to go to Quebec to settle the inheritance – an inheritance which involves an inheritance that is thorny to say the least. The film, The successor is competing for the San Sebastián Festival.

The successor is signed Xavier Legranddirector of the noted Until the Guard (2017) with Léa Drucker And Denis Ménochet. In this new project, the filmmaker once again addresses the complexity of family ties, condemning us to deal with this inevitability of blood.
