Already 3 million for Wonka in France, Didier Bourdon millionaire thanks to Chasse Gardée

After a record week, the box office is going down again, but a few films are still doing very well. (Source: Le Film Français)

Last week, all the films shown in France together attracted 5.8 million spectators. A very high overall score: it’s even better than during the simultaneous release of barbie And Oppenheimer in mid-July (5 million total in French weekly box office at that time), or that ofAvatar 2 last winter (the total had risen to 5.3 million). We haven’t seen that since Spider-Man No Way Home in December 2022, and this obviously benefited recently released films such as Wonka, Aquaman 2 Or The Three Musketeers: Milady.

Wonka still dominates a very strong French box office

This week, the average is lower, obviously: the school holidays end, so attendance falls, by -23% for Migration at -42% for Segpas on skis. In total, the films on display together bring together 4.3 million vouchers, an overall drop of one and a half million cinema tickets.

The big holiday hits, however, hang on in the top 10, where we only find two new releases: Iris and menwith Laure Calamy, starts in eighth position thanks to 167,511 tickets sold in 516 cinemas, and Priscillaby Sofia Coppola, was seen by 144,773 people on 258 screens, which gives it 10th position – each time, we take their previews into account.

Among the continuities, Wonka surpasses 3 million admissions in one month, thanks to 673,104 new tickets sold over the last seven days in 868 theaters. This is quite enough to maintain the lead in the ranking. The second largest accumulation goes to wishthe latest animated film from Disney studios, which was released two weeks earlier and has 2.5 million spectators, including 334,752 in front of 911 screens (which is not the biggest distribution at the moment, since its animated competitor of Illumination counts 1118 copies!).

The Three Musketeers – Miladyreleased at the same time as the musical with Timothée Chalamet, reached 2.1 million admissions, whileAquaman and the Lost Kingdom has 1.6 million countermarks sold in three weeks. Preservewith Didier Bourdon and Thierry Lhermitte, passes the million mark in three weeks, and the rest of the Segpa stops just below, but in just fifteen days. Suffice it to say that this symbolic bar will be quickly crossed.

So many adventure films and comedies that will attract family audiences this winter. The news Mean Girls Or Making of will they manage to integrate this ranking? Answer next week…
