Already 600,000 entries for Didier Bourdon and Christian Clavier with Cocorico
French comedy is doing well. Quentin Dupieux too.
Didier Bourdon hit the box office at the start of the year! After scraping almost 2 million entries with Preservehe is about to do it again with cock-a-doodle Doo. As a duo, this time, with Christian Clavier, it once again dominates the domestic box office. Julien Hervé’s film attracted almost 600,000 spectators for its first week, screened in 600 theaters.
A very nice score and an excellent average, which should take advantage of the school holidays to expand. This will also be the case for The Last Jaguar. With 222,000 admissions, Gilles de Maistre’s new film is off to a good start and takes second place in the ranking. It will be recalled that Mia and the white lion had managed to expect 1.45 million entries in 2018.
Finally, the French box office is screaming cock-a-doodle Doo one last time since it’s Daaaaaali! which occupies third place on a 100% tricolor podium. Supported by an exciting cast, the crazy biopic has already passed 200,000 admissions after one week in theaters. Quentin Dupieux can seriously hope to beat his best score, currently held by Yannickwhich had totaled 463,851 entries in 2023.
Note that flop Argyle is as marked in France as in the United States. While an action and spy film is not taking off at the US box office, it has seen its attendance drop by 39% here. In an enormous 600 theaters, it only gleaned 125,000 additional admissions in the second week, and is currently only at 350,000 admissions at the French box office.
