Anthony Hopkins plays Freud against the Chronicles of Narnia: trailer

How the psychoanalyst treated the traumas of the writer CS Lewis, before the Second World War.

This is not entirely a true story. In his book The Question of God (in 2003), Dr. Armand Nicholi imagined a discussion between CS Lewis And Sigmund Freud. The two intellectuals – a priori – never really met, but they both lived in London in the months preceding the Second World War. And the movie Freud’s Last Session will build from there a whole story, in which the Austrian psychoanalyst invites the author of Chronicles of Narnia to debate the existence of God, helping him to overcome his traumas from the First World War.

Sony Pictures Classics has just revealed the trailer for Freud’s Last Sessionin which we find Anthony Hopkins in the role of the famous Sigmund Freud and Matthew Goode in that of CS Lewis.

Directed by Matthew Brown, from a screenplay written by Mark St. Germain (based on the book by Armand Nicholi), Freud’s Last Session also brings together Liv Lisa Fries, Jodi Balfour, Orla Brady in the cast. Released on December 22 across the Channel. No date yet in France.
