Apple teases season 2 of Severance: “We’re working on it,” assures Ben Stiller

Two years after season 1, fans are dying of impatience.

Everything goes as planned“, reassured Ben Stillerthe executive producer and lead director of Severance, last April. At the time, the brilliant show ofApple TV+ adored by critics was the subject of rumors of conflict behind the scenes of season 2, long awaited by fans. Meanwhile, the Hollywood strike happened, and the show was put on hiatus while the writers held up signs. We are not in Severance” on the picket lines.

The movement ended on November 8, but there was still no news of the continuation of Severance, while the launch of the series will celebrate its two years in February. Except that Apple shared this week an extract from season 1, then an image of Adam Scott’s character, without the slightest context, reigniting the excitement of fans with a number of interactions well above the average of posts published by the studio.

Questioned on X, formerly Twitter, Ben Stiller once again played his role as spokesperson for the show created by Dan Erickson, releasing a laconic “we are working on it“. Reassuring news, but which also reminds us that we have very little information on season 2 of Severance. According to rumors, filming, which began in October 2022 (!), is almost finished. And we could therefore hope for a release during the second half of 2024. But nothing official at this stage.

What will the rest of Severance ? No pitch has been revealed, but after the events that occurred in the last episodes of season 1, we are waiting to learn more about the mysteries of Lumon, the company that dissociates people’s minds, between the ” Inter” who works from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the “exter” who lives his life outside the office. And especially the famous Mrs. Casey (Dichen Lachman), who turned out to be the late wife of Mark Scout (Adam Scott).

The consequences of another major revelation should also be at the heart of season 2. That concerning the character of Helly (Britt Lower), who is none other than Helena Eagan, the daughter of Jame Eagan, the CEO of Lumon! The creator of Severance had also suggested during a chat on Reddit that she could be the villain of season 2.

What we do know, however, is that some new additions will join the cast: Gwendoline Christie (Game Of Thrones), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Wes Anderson’s favorite actor Bob Balaban and Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie, Walking Dead).

Last year, Patricia Arquette also shared her enthusiasm for this much-desired season 2: “These guys worked really hard, and came up with some really creative ideas. They have a whole world in their minds. They reveal it to us little by little, but I think it will be fun and magnificent“, explained the one who plays Lumon’s boss Harmony Cobel, aka Mrs. Selvig, in the show.
