Army of the 12 Monkeys restored in 4K and presented by Terry Gilliam at the Lumière festival
In addition to The Name of the Rose, by Jean-Jacques Annaud, the organizers are revealing other exceptional sessions.

Two weeks ago, we learned that the 2023 Lumière festival would close with an exceptional projection of the Name of the Rose, presented by its director, Jean-Jacques Annaud. This historical thriller by Sean Connery and Christian Slater, released in cinemas in 1986, has just been restored, and it is its remastered version which will be shown to the public on Sunday October 22.
A few days before, another classic will be entitled to the same honor: Army of the 12 Monkeysof Terry Gilliam. This science fiction work starring Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt, released on the big screen in 1995, has been restored by Arrow Films, Silver Salt Restoration and NBC Universal. In France, L’Atelier des Images will be responsible for distributing this version in 4K, on video from November 8.

As a reminder, the 15th Lumière festival will take place from October 14 to 22, 2023. The Lumière Prize will be awarded to Wim Wendersinvited to come and present the key films of his career to the public – his classic Paris, Texas was also chosen to illustrate the poster for this edition. Many cinema events are planned, such as a special screening of Killers of the Flower Moon, by Martin Scorsese, a session of Jungle Book for the whole family organized for the 100th anniversary of Disney studios or a night Star Warswith the broadcast of the original trilogy preceded by Rogue one.
