“Back to Black” is the hit that gave its title to the singer’s best-known album – the record reached a record figure of 3,259,100 copies sold around the world. This success will also be rewarded with five Grammy Awards. The album goes down in music history, becoming the best-selling album of the 21st century in Great Britain. The singer recorded the hit alongside Mark Ronson in New York in 2006.

For the biopic project it is Sam Taylor-Johnson who is in charge of the production. The filmmaker had already made a biopic on a British singing star: John Lennon in Nowhere Boy (2009). For “Hurricane Amy“ as her mother liked to call her, the biopic will feature the actress Marisa Abela (Cobra And Industry from HBO) in the lead role. The photo reveals the thick line of eyeliner and her piercing on the corner of her mouth – the resemblance fools no one.

Marisa Abela herself promoted this photo on the networks: “Back to Black. In cinemas on April 12, 2024 in Great Britain and Ireland. More information to come…”

Back to Black will be released a few days later in France: the April 24, 2024.
