Beetlejuice 2 to open 2024 Venice Film Festival

The next Venice Film Festival is taking shape. After announcing that Sigourney Weaver would receive the Honorary Golden Lion there.the organizers reveal the opening film, also from the United States: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The sequel to the cult gothic comedy from 1988, also directed by Tim Burton with Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara, but also the newcomers Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe and Justin Theroux, are precisely expected on Wednesday evening, August 28 to open the festivities. This sequel to Beetlejuice will be screened out of competition.

After this opening, the 81st Venice Film Festival will run until September 7.
