Superman: Legacy won't dwell on Clark Kent's childhood

Big red briefs and vintage look: new images of James Gunn’s Superman

The David Corenswet version seems less modern than the first photo suggested.

The shooting of the next film Superman is underway in Cleveland (Ohio in the United States) and new photos have leaked online, showing a new, clearer look at the costume that will be worn David Corenswet in this adaptation signed James Gunn.

If the first official image seemed to tease a modern costume, with midnight blue and reinforced details, these photos suggest a look in reality much more retro: a bright blue sported with large traditional red briefs and its classic cape with the Superman logo in yellow on the back. A look close to Superman by Grant Morrison and All-Star Superman by Frank Quitly.

Next to him, we also see the actor Edi Gathegi (Dr. House) in the costume of Mister Terrific, who will obviously work alongside Superman.

In the casting David Corenswet (Clark Kent) will be surrounded by Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Maria Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner) and Milly Alcock (Supergirl).

The film is scheduled to be released on July 9, 2025.
