Billie Lourd shared a post on social networks, regarding her late mother, Carrie Fisher, who died on December 27, 2016 at the age of 60.

Billie Lourddaughter of Carrie Fisher but also actress in Scream Queens or the latest film Star Wars, underlined the difficulty of grieving for a mother who has died suddenly. The actress shared this terrible realization of the pain and emotions of losing a loved one, writing on her social networks that for the first time, this winter, “grief has infused my life with a sense of appreciation I’ve never had before.”

Carrie Fisherknown worldwide for her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars, died on December 27, 2016, at the age of 60. Wednesday December 27, 2023 marked the seventh anniversary of his death. Billie Lourd published a tender photo on Instagrampaying tribute to his mother.

It’s been seven years since my mother died (but who’s counting? Me, I guess?). Each birthday brings a different version of my grief. Some make me angry, some make me cry all day, some make me feel empty, some make me feel nothing, some make me feel guilty for not feeling anything, and some makes me feel all these things at the same time. (…) I miss her every day, she is with me every day. As I tell my son, she lives in the stars, she makes my life shine.”

This year when I woke up I felt grateful, she also writes. Grief has infused my life with a sense of appreciation that I never had before and that makes me absorb every moment of joy as if it were my last..”

Earlier this year, Lourd accepted a posthumous star on THE Walk of Fame of Hollywood in the name of “Fisher”. During her speech, the actress fought back tears as she talked about transmitting passion Star Wars to his children. Since the death of her mother, Billie has revealed that she “fell deeply in love with Leia and the entire universe of Star Wars. I went from a little girl who didn’t even want to watch Star Wars to an obsessive fan.” She added:

I have now passed the torch — or in this case, the lightsaber — to my two children, Kingston and Jackson. I feel so lucky that even though they won’t get to meet my mother, they will get to know her through Leia. I will tell them that the little lady on the television is my mother, and their grandmother.
