Bong Joon-ho’s new movie won’t be released this year

Mickey 17 with Robert Pattison sees its release postponed to 2025.

Fans of Bong Joon-ho will have to wait a little longer. Variety announces to us that his next science fiction film Mickey 17with Robert Pattinsonsees its release date postponed to January 29, 2025. Initially scheduled for April 3, 2024, it is finally Godzilla x Kong: The New Kingdom who takes his niche.

According to Variety’s sources, this change of date was decided to give margin to the post-production of Mickey 17, which risked not being ready in time. Nevertheless, there is something positive, since this shift will allow the film to Bong Joon-ho to be released in IMAX, which was not possible with its previous date.

Mickey 17 is a science fiction thriller adapted from the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. Robert Pattinson embodies an individual sent on a mission to colonize a hostile planet.
