Borgo: Hafsia Herzi, star of a tense thriller in Corsica (trailer)
Stéphane Demoustier (acclaimed for The Girl with the Bracelet) is inspired by a bloody news story.
Melissa, 32, a prison guard, lands in Corsica with her two young children and her husband. The mother of the family enters an environment that is special to say the least, where it is said that it is the prisoners who monitor the guards and not the other way around. Strangely, the young recruit is taken under the wing of an influential young inmate, who will reconnect with Melissa once released from prison. Everything has to be paid for, Mélissa is then asked to provide a service.
In the cast of this gripping thriller, we find Hafsia Herzi (The Rapture, The grain and the mule), Moussa Mansaly (Valid), Florence Loiret-Caille (The Cold Head) And Michel Fau (Daisy). Directed by Stéphane Demoustierthe film is inspired by the double murder at Bastia-Poretta airport, which occurred on December 5, 2017. Cathy Sénéchal, prison guard, would be involved in the deaths of Antoine Quilichini and Jean-Luc Codaccioni.

About this new project inspired by a dramatic true story, Stéphane Demoustier declared to Corsica Morning :
“I wanted to make a film that didn’t judge these characters. This is valid both for the guard and for the camp of criminals or detainees who surround her. I wanted to look at them while freeing myself from prejudices, while being neither complacent nor judgmental. My goal is to paint this picture while leaving these questions open.”
Stéphane Demoustier, producer and director, stood out in 2021, with his third film, The girl with the bracelet, which earned him the César for best adaptation and the Lumières Award for best screenplay.
Borgo will be released in theaters on April 17, 2024.
