Julie Navarro has made her first feature film about a migrant aid association.

A return to the roots of the profession for Arthur, a music journalist who reluctantly rediscovers the field after destroying a hotel room. Sent to cover the evacuation of a migrant camp by the CRS, he was injured by one of them. But that will not prevent him from getting closer to the Solidarité Exilés association, and for good reason: he is seduced by the charismatic Mathilde, who soon requires him to welcome Daoud, for a few days, no more.

With this first feature film, Julie Navarro circumvents the didactic and moralizing tendencies into which activist films sometimes fall. According to her :

“If I chose to make a film on the level of a human being, of a citizen, it is because many of our grandparents, our friends come from elsewhere and today, we tend to forgetting and wanting to close the door behind you.”

A social dramatic comedy, therefore, which echoes current events more than ever. But A few days no more is also the playground of a young director who has fun with genres and registers: romantic comedy, social drama, offbeat humor, political message… The references mingle and unravel in a first attempt carried by the adventurous chatter of Benjamin Biolay and the galvanizing energy of Camille Cottinwho meet again a few years after the release of Room 212 of Christophe Honore.

Julie Navarro, who is primarily a casting director, mainly hired Amrulah Safi, Afghan migrant who takes his first steps in front of a camera. This choice is that of authenticity, which increases the scope of this adaptation of the book On the influence of minibar throwing on humanitarian commitmentsigned by Marc Salbertthe filmmaker's companion, who also co-wrote the screenplay.

A few days no more will be released in theaters on April 3, 2024.
