The trailer for Borderlandsadaptation of the eponymous video game by Eli Roth, promises to be an explosion. The pitch? Lilith, a bounty hunter, is forced to return to her home planet, Pandora to find the missing daughter of Atlas, the most powerful man in the universe. The planet Pandora is not the most pleasant – understatement: it is probably the most chaotic in the galaxy. To honor her mission, Lilith embarks on an unexpected alliance with a fine team. Among them, Roland, a mercenary, Tiny Tina a pre-teen lover of destruction, Krieg his athletic protector, Tannis a mad scientist, and Claptrap, a funny robot with a sharp tongue.
Together, they will fight the species that stand in their way. The planet Pandora has many secrets in store for them…

The post-apocalyptic settings inevitably make us think of Mad Max (and the team Guardians of the Galaxy)but the spirit of the video game is there. Eli Roththe director of the traumatic Hostel (available on FirstMax)and the future Thanksgiving 2directs this futuristic project, alongside a major cast: Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Jamie Lee Curtis or Ariana Greenblatt (barbie).
Borderlands will be released in theaters on August 7, 2024.
