Charlotte Le Bon joins the cast of The White Lotus

The director of Falcon Lake is flying to Thailand to join the new cast of Mike White's series.

Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb… The list is long of actors who will pass through the doors of the Thai White Lotus in the third part of the HBO gem helmed by Mike White. Friday, we learned that a French name would be added to this already well-stocked catalog: that of Charlotte Le Bon.

According to anonymous sources cited by Deadlinethe former Miss Météo du Grand Journal replaces the actress Francesca Corney (The Buccaneers) who the producers found too young for his character. This is not the first time that the HBO pundits have considered the recasting necessary since for this same season 3, they had shown the door to Miloš Bikovićreplaced by Julian Kostov (Shadow and Bone) after a pro Vladimir Putin outing.

But this time, no politics, the decision is purely linked to the issues of the scenario refined by Mike White himself. Charlotte Le Bon will therefore quickly join the filming of the third part of the anthology, which is currently taking place in Thailand. For the moment, we don't know anything about the character she will play.

All we know about this new season is that it will follow a new group of tourists including the patriarch of a family gang, a couple of mothers, a business executive, an actress, a misfit and a yogi.

Charlotte Le Bon will therefore be entitled to her room in the luxury hotel. The actress, who we haven't seen on screen since Fresha horror thriller presented at the Sundance Film Festival, will make her comeback in front of the camera after releasing her first feature film as a director, Falcon Lake. Based on a graphic novel by Bastien Vivèsthe film was presented at the Quinzaine des filmmakers in 2022, and won the César for Best First Film in 2023. But it is above all her comic roots that Charlotte Le Bon will have to call on in Mike White's series, carried by a powerful cynicism and an absurdity notably embodied by Jennifer Coolidge in the first two seasons.

Season 3 of The White Lotus should be released in 2025 on HBO.
