Charmed: Alyssa Milano counterattacks and responds to Shannen Doherty

“I didn’t have the power to fire anyone. And once Shannen left, we had five more successful seasons…”

After the recent attacks of Shannen Doherty on Holly Marie Combs’ podcast, claiming she was fired because ofAlyssa Milanohis former sister Halliwell breaks the silence and responds on Instagram:

“It was so long ago that anyone telling these stories is just revisionism. I didn’t have the power to get anyone fired!”

Alyssa Milano was a guest at MegaCon in Orlando this weekend and was asked about her time Charmed and these tangles with Shannen Doherty. She immediately published on Instagram a transcription of what she told the audience:

“I don’t know of any other series that has had the success of Charmed and whose actors still talk negatively about their experience a quarter of a century later! I’ve made 15 films and 13 series since! Charmed was 11 years before my 15th wedding anniversary and 13 years before I had my first child. It was so long ago that anyone telling these stories is just revisionism.”

She continues by insisting “with absolute certainty“, that “everything was documented. There was a professional mediator involved by the production, but I was told that Holly and Shannen would not participate in any mediation. And then there was a producer/babysitter on set who was brought in to investigate all complaints. This mediator then recommended, after taking testimony from the cast AND crew, what changes should be made if the series were to continue. The studio, Aaron Spelling and the network made the decision to protect the international success of Charmed (dismissing Shannen Doherty). I didn’t have the power to fire anyone. Once Shannen left, we had five more successful seasons and I will be forever grateful“.

As always, I wish Holly, Shannen and Rose peace and light in their personal and professional journeys“, concludes the message. “We all have bigger demons to fight.”
