Chris Evans is not opposed to a return as Captain America, but…
“No one told me about it!” tempers the actor, who still opens a small door.
To counter the decline, Marvel would have the idea of bringing back the original team of Avengers : Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsorth, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo and of course Chris Evans. The idea is in the air and relayed by a report from Variety. But it doesn’t really seem close to coming to fruition.
This is what the old one suggests Captain America of the MCU. During a recent appearance on The View (via TheWrap), the actor who has since moved on Endgameconfides not having any news from Marvel: “You know, I also see this information coming out. It happens often. And it’s always a surprise when I read that. Every two months, someone says that Downey and Hemsworth and Scarlet and everyone will come back… But no one has told me about it!
That being said, while these are clearly just rumors at this point, Chris Evans is not opposed to a return to Captain Americain absolute :
“Frankly, I would never say that I would never go back! Afterwards, I am really very protective of the character. It is a very precious role for me, which I would not want to damage… So it would be necessary really something perfect (for me to agree to come back).”
In other words, the door is open. If Marvel, the Russos or Kevin Feige succeed in imagining the story that would justify the return of Avengers originals, then Chris Evans wouldn’t say no…
