Chris Pine would love to return for Dungeons and Dragons 2

The actor had a blast playing the thief bard at the heart of this action fantasy comedy.

Who would want to find Edgin, the seductive bard thief of Dungeons and Dragons released a few months ago? Chris Pine, he is just waiting for that! In a recent interview with GamesRadarthe star discusses the possibility of a sequel: “I’ve heard rumors about this. (…) But I am rather confident that it can be done”.

The blockbuster received a generally warm reception from critics, but more mixed at the box office with 200 million dollars in worldwide revenue, of which less than 100 million collected in the United States. Will Paramount want to continue the adventure under these conditions? If the film is a hit on DVD, Blu-ray and/or VOD, perhaps?

In this first installment adapted from the successful role-playing game of the same name, a motley team of heroes organizes a risky heist to steal a relic in a universe ofheroic fantasy. Using the mechanics of role-playing games, each character has unique abilities that are essential to the successful completion of the quest.

Chris Pine plays Edgin, bard and thief, Michelle Rodriguez (Fast and Furious) is Holga the furious Barbarian, Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton) is Xenk the noble Paladin, Sophia Lillis (That) plays Doric a mischievous shapeshifter and Justice Smith (Pokémon: Detective Pikachu) dons the costume of Simon the mighty sorcerer. Their heist will backfire when they realize that they gave the relic to someone malicious (the bad guy is played by Hugh Grant, always in good shape in this register).

The end of the film remains open enough to imagine other episodes, and while awaiting confirmation of a sequel for Dungeons and Dragons: Thieves’ Honor, Chris Pine lends his voice to the character of Magnifico, the big villain of Wish – Asha and the lucky starthe next Disney, in theaters on November 29, 2023. Another medieval and singing role for the star, whose features even the animated character seems to borrow, as evidenced by the trailer:
