Christina Ricci loves Netflix’s new Wednesday Addams
The Addams Family actress praises Jenna Ortega, who succeeded her in this role with (huge) success.
This Sunday evening, 6Ter will rebroadcast The Addams Familyan essential family film from the early 1990s. At the time, it was Christina Ricci who played the little girl, Wednesday Addams. In 2022, it is Jenna Ortega who took over the role in the hit Netflix series. And she was immediately dubbed by her eldest.
Christina Ricciwho was also part of the cast of the Netflix production by Tim Burton, but in a different roleconfided to Variety, when the trailer for the show was posted online :
“It’s super fun. I loved working with Tim Burton. And Jenna is amazing. I saw some of the wardrobe photos before I went on set for filming myself. So I knew what this version of Wednesday. And I have to say, it’s a wonderfully modern new take on the character. It’s so true to the heart and soul of the original, while still being incredibly modern. It’s pretty awesome.”

The least we can say is that Christina Ricci is not offended to be replaced and she is full of praise for her colleague.
Series Wednesday shows Gomez and Morticia’s kid-turned-teenager, as she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, and thwart a monstrous. She also seeks to solve the supernatural mystery that confused her parents 25 years ago…
In August 2022, Ricci also spoke with joy his reunion with Tim Burtonwho directed it in 1999 in Sleepy Hollow :
“It’s Tim Burton, I was so honored that he asked me to come back, because he’s a genius, she confided to Collider. And the fact that I’m being asked to participate in a new version of something that has been such an important part of my life, of my identity… I know very well that they didn’t start this project purely kindness, but I was touched by the way they treated me, it was very cool. Plus, it’s a fun world and my character is incredibly fun and quirky, it’s very different from anything I’ve done in my career, it was very cool. I loved this experience with Jenna, she is amazing. I think people have already had a taste of his rendition of Wednesday, it’s going to be fantastic.”
