Christopher Nolan compares Dune 2 to The Empire Strikes Back

“It’s a huge compliment,” replied Denis Villeneuve.

In a duo interview between Denis Villeneuve And Christopher Nolanthe British filmmaker gives his opinion on Dune: Part Two. He notably compares this second part to The Empire Strikes Back.

“If Dune: Part One was Star Warsthis one would be for me The Empire Strikes Backwhich is my film Star Wars favorite”, declares Christopher Nolan. He continues his argument by talking about the development of the fictional universe in this sequel: “I think it’s an incredible and exciting expansion”, he adds.

Faced with this comment, Denis Villeneuve who is in charge of producing these remakes responds, very flattered: “I have to tell you Chris, that’s a huge compliment.” Indeed, when we compare a work to a monument as cult as The Empire Strikes Backthere is something to be ashamed of.
