The actor is accompanied by Eye Haïdara in a social drama about a small country village.
Mr. Mayor is a film directed by Karine Blanc And Michael Tavares in which Clovis Cornillac embodies Paul Barral, mayor of a small village at the foot of Mont Blanc, who fights tirelessly to prevent businesses and schools from closing. To avoid turning his village into a deserted area, he desperately seeks to attract new families. The arrival of single mothers in difficult situations, including Joe-Lynn (Eye Haïdara, seen in The meaning of the party Or The Women of the Square), a colorful singer with two children, will give him an idea to save his village.
The film’s trailer offers us a social chronicle, which seems to deliver a message about solidarity and tolerance. All located in the heart of the French Alps with Cornillac who seems invested in his role as mayor concerned about the future of the inhabitants of his commune.
The actor has found his new niche in committed roles (The Vetos, The Glacier) in which he is keen to portray characters concerned by current issues and who decide to act.
Mr. Mayor will be released in theaters on November 1, 2023.
