Daemon Targaryen VS Jon Snow: who would win in a duel?

For Matt Smith, no doubt: “Dude, I have a dragon!”

As is common when two series take place in the same universe, viewers like to make comparisons between the characters of each series. Of Game Of Thrones has House of the Dragon, who are the characters with the most similarities? What if two of them met, what would it be like? While season 2 of House of the Dragon arrives in a few days, the main actors continue the promotion.

House of the Dragon: the popularity of Daemon Targaryen calls into question

Guest on the set of Jimmy Fallon's late show, Matt Smithwho plays Daemon Targaryen, Rhaenyra's uncle and husband (a completely normal situation in this family), answered one of these questions: what if, Daemon faced Jon Snow – one of the main characters and appreciated by Game Of Thrones – who would win?

As he had already said in 2022 at Heroes Comic Con Brussels, Matt Smith is convinced of his character's victory:

“Come on Jimmy. Who would win in a fight between Jon Snow and Daemon? Man, I have a dragon! I have a lot of respect for Jon, he's a bad boy. Kit Harrington is a nice guy. But I'd screw him a beating!”

Daemon Targaryen VS Jon Snow? Let's do a check in. Both are very good warriors. In episode 9 of season 6 of Game Of Thrones, the Battle of the Bastards illustrates the strategist and combat talents of the Bastard of Winterfell. Let's also not forget that he survived White Walkers!

On the other hand, Daemon proved his combativeness during the War for the Stone Steps. He is one of the most fearsome and dangerous men in all of Westeros. Impulsive, we remember episode 8 of the first season of House of the Dragon in which we see the Prince cutting off Vaemond Velaryon's head like a watermelon. Would Jon Snow have done the same?

For Matt Smith, the main argument is winged. Daemon is the master of Caraxes, one of the most difficult to tame and fiercest dragons in this fantasy universe. He seems to forget that Jon Snow also has Targaryen blood and would also be capable of having a dragon. Moreover, in the last season of Game Of Thrones, we see him riding Rhaegal with Daenerys. And then, Jon Snow still came back from the dead… Can Daemon Targaryen say the same?

The second season of House of the Dragon will be released on Max on June 17 in France.
