DC and Superman: Legacy found Clark Kent’s best friend in Licorice Pizza
Actor Skyler Gisondo, also in the cast of The Righteous Gemstones, will play the new Jimmy Olsen.
More new names in the casting of Superman: Legacy !
Jimmy Olsen, the friendly young photographer from the Daily Planet, who became Clark Kent’s best friend in Metropolis and the Man of Steel’s confidant, has found his new interpreter. It is Skyler Gisondo who will now be Jimmy Olsen in James Gunn’s DC Universe, from his Superman: Legacy. Gisondo is known for his score in the excellent Licorice Pizza by Paul Thomas Anderson (in 2021) and in various HBO series, such as The Righteous Gemstones And Curb Your Enthusiasmafter being revealed in the Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet.
It thus succeeds Michael Cassidy who played the role – in a secret agent version – during the previous DC Univerese and in the only Batman v Superman (2016). Jimmy Olsen is best known as Justin Whalinin the television series Lois and Clark (1994-1996).
At the same time, we learn that the Portuguese actress and model, Sarah Sampaiomuse Victoria’s Secret, will play Lex Luthor’s ally and assistant, Eve Teschmacher. She will therefore play alongside Nicholas Hoult who was just announced as DC’s new Luthor.
Superman: Legacy will be released on July 9, 2025 in France. Filming next year.
Superman: Legacy will not be an origin story, but will tell “the fragile balance that Clark Kent, aka Superman, must find between his Kryptonian origin and his life as a human.” David Corenswet will play the title role opposite Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.
