Death of Alan Arkin: John Goodman, his comrade from Argo remembers
“I met a wonderful man”, recently confided to us the actor who formed a hellish duo with Alan Arkin in Ben Affleck’s film.
“Argo-fuck yourself!” will certainly remain in the annals of cinema. A line thatAlan Arkin swayed at will and with contagious jubilation, playing producer Lester Siegel in Argothe Oscar-winning film Ben Affleckin 2012. By his side throughout this crazy story, John Goodman played John Chambers, the make-up artist who helped the CIA mount this improbable operation in Hollywood.
The actor fondly remembers the explosive duo he formed with Alan Arkinon and off the set:
“I have precious memories of our duo in Argo“, entrusts John Goodman at Première, met a few days ago, during the 62nd Monte-Carlo festival. “I remember those times we spent together, whole days doing crossword puzzles backstage! We talked a lot. We talked about everything. Especially about music. Alan was one of my heroes when I I was younger and I have to say that getting to know him during Argo I really discovered a great man.”
Alan Arkin died on Thursday. He was 89 years old.
