“It’s official: we’ve teamed up with Kojima Productions for the live-action adaptation of the acclaimed video game Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding.”

Kojima Productions US and Allan Ungar will serve as executive producers. Ungar has previously worked in video game adaptation, as he directed a short film based on Unchartedstarring Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake.

It will therefore be a film in live action, which will not be directed by Hideo Kojima, himself. He promises, however, that he will be heavily involved in the production, supervision, narration, aesthetics, design and content of the adaptation.

Death Strandingreleased in 2019, saw Norman Reedus play as Sam Porter Bridges, a courier tasked with delivering supplies to isolated colonies across a post-apocalyptic Earth. The game also starred Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley and Troy Baker!
