The feature film starring Guillaume Canet is released today on DVD and blu-ray.
Just Philippot is one of the masters of a new French so-called genre cinema. He created a surprise in 2020 with his first feature film The Cloud, a horror film in which a mother and her two children try to escape a threat from locusts taking control of their agricultural land. It notably received the Cannes 2020 label, the year when the Festival was canceled following the Covid-19 epidemic.

The filmmaker returned to Cannes last year, in a midnight screening, with a new feature film, Acid, now available on DVD and Blu-ray. It follows the story of an separated couple, Michal (Guillaume Canet) and Elise (Lætitia Dosch), and their child who try to escape the threat of acid rain falling on France, in a world that is about to sink…
Before the feature, there was already the short: in 2018, Just Philippot made a short film of the same title, which uses the same plot as his new film. The main roles were then played by Sofian Khammes and Maud Wyler, who are among the promising new faces of French cinema. The film was presented in several festivals, including the Clermont-Ferrand short film festival.
