Discover the program for the 2023 Valenciennes Festival

The thirteenth edition, sponsored by Claude Lelouch, will take place from September 29 to October 3.

Kick-off of the thirteenth edition of Valenciennes 2 Cinema Festival this Friday. Like every year, a busy program awaits the public, between films in competition, out-of-competition previews and selection for young audiences. This time, Claude Lelouch is the sponsor of the event.

Among the feature films competing in the fiction category, we find in particular Marie-Line and her judgewith Louane and Michel Blanc, A silence with Daniel Auteuil and Emmanuelle Devos, but also My mother’s life with Agnès Jaoui and William Lebghil. The jury chaired by Stéphane Brizé will also welcome Aure Atika, Olivia Côte, Vincent Elbaz, Marie Gillain, Éric Gravel and Clémence Poésy. On the documentary side, among others, are selected Anselm, the sound of time by Wim Wenders, Cesaria Evora, the barefoot diva by Ana Sofia Fonseca and The Bertrand farm by Gilles Perret.

At the same time, meetings will take place with several guests: Nicole Garcia (Lovers And Stones Disease will be projected), Michel Hazanavicius whose Oss 117, The artist And Cutz! are programmed. The public will also be able to interact with Aline Bonettothe head decorator of‘A long engagement Sunday, Yves Saint Laurent And Wonder Woman (which will all be screened during the festival), but also Octavio Tapia, prop maker on The roundup, Dunkirk, The last duel And Asteroid City.

Like last year, Alex Vizorek will be responsible for hosting the screenings. The Valenciennes festival will take place from September 29 to October 3 at the Gaumont Valenciennes cinema. The complete program can be found just here.
