Downton Abbey 3: the new film has a release date

Return to the Crawley family home planned for next year.

One film every three years, that’s the price! After the first part in cinemas in September 2019 and its sequel in April 2022, Downton Abbey 3 has a release date set for September 12, 2025. Focus Features has officially announced the date for the new feature film, which will continue the popular ITV series from Julian Fellowes.

We don’t know anything about the story yet, but Downton Abbey 3 will once again star Hugh Bonneville as Robert Crawley, Elizabeth McGovern as Cora Crawley, Michelle Dockery as Mary, Laura Carmichael as Edith, Jim Carter as Carson, Phyllis Logan as Elsie. They will be joined by new faces: Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale and Arty Froushan.

The film will be directed by Simon Curtis from a screenplay written by Fellowes.
