“We were impressed and we continue to be. We didn’t expect it to last over time,” says the Oppenheimer actress.

Despite its journey of success, Emily Blunt was not prepared for the “Barbenheimer” wave. The actress seen in The devil wears Prada, Edge of Tomorrow, Without a soundor Mary Poppins Returns does not lack experience, however. Playing the wife of Cillian Murphy In Oppenheimer, she had a front row seat to witness the summer phenomenon. And she asks for more.

Even if the cinema of Christopher Nolan to its followers, the scale of the box officeOppenheimer was a surprise. Carried by a talented cast, Cillian Murphy, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr. And Emily Bluntthis 3-hour biopic on the father of the atomic bomb generated $952 million in worldwide revenue.

I thought there would always be an audience for it (…) I didn’t expect this dazzling journey. It was so exciting. We were impressed and continue to be. We didn’t expect it to last long.

Emily Blunt seems well aware of the rarity of the event. In fact, it encourages this type of “double-feature” program, composed of two films with eminently contrary nuances:

We need to make this happen again. We have to do it because look at the benefits it has brought to cinema. Look what it did for people. It was a joyful celebration thanks to this diversity of films. Why should we oppose them? Go see both! I want this to happen again, more and more. It’s fantastic”.

During this interview, Emily Blunt also mentioned the release of The Fall Guywhere she shares the bill with Ryan “Ken” Gosling :

The movie is going to come out in the summer, because it’s definitely a summer movie. It’s like a summer movie. It’s wild, twisted and incredibly beautiful. It’s romantic and…sexy. It is fabulous. I am so proud to act in this film.
