Emily in Paris: season 4 filmed urgently… before the Olympic Games!

No filming in the City of Lights during the long months surrounding the Olympics. Productions must adapt.

The French capital will be in turmoil in 2024. And this time, it won’t be because of Emily. The Olympic Games will shake up the landscape and daily lives of various industries, such as audiovisual production. From June to September, all filming will be prohibited in Paris, while access to certain upscale neighborhoods around Concorde and Trocadéro will be restricted from March!

Time is therefore running out for Netflix, if the studio wants to be able to film season 4 of its hit series Emily in Paris before 2025. Variety reveals that production has thus been brought forward urgently, and hopes to be able to begin next January in the most beautiful city in the world, i.e. before the blockage imposed by the Olympics.

This filming was initially scheduled to start during the summer in the Cité du Cinéma studios, where the last three seasons were filmed. But the Cité du Cinéma is reserved for the Olympic Games from mid-November. So the camerasEmily in Paris will land at the nearby Monjoie Studios.

“When it comes to securing locations in Paris, it’s first come, first served, so it’s a bit of a rat race at the moment. Most locations are already saturated” confides a delegate producer to Variety, who works on major American shoots in Paris.

Emily in Parisseason 4, could thus be broadcast at the end of 2024 on Netflix, knowing that season 3 already dates back to winter 2022.
