First official look at Liam Hemsworth in The Witcher wig

Henry Cavill's replacement shows his face as Geralt of Rivia.

Photos stolen from the set began circulating on the networks for a few days (see below). So Netflix was forced to react and has just revealed the first official preview of Liam Hemsworth in the skin of The Witcherhe who replaces at short notice Henry Cavillresigned before season 4.

The streamer has put together a little teaser video which doesn't show anything, but in which Liam Hemsworth turns around at the last second, to show what he will look like under the wig. Obviously, the production chose the most perfect resemblance. His Geralt of Rivia looks like two drops of water to that of Henry Cavill. Reassuring for those who feared being destabilized by the untimely casting change.

“His look has been in development for over a year, so it's exciting to finally be able to share an official look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,” comments showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich in Entertainment Weekly. “The other cast and crew were struck by Liam's passion, energy and devotion to this character from day one: the scruffy beard, the iconic scar, everything! We're having a blast filming the season 4”.

Production is currently underway. Liam Hemsworth will feature in the cast Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, Joey Batey, Laurence Fishburne, Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy and Danny Woodburn.

No release date has yet been set for season 4 of The Witcher. Netflix also announced that the series will end after its fifth season.
