First trailer for the Dune: Prophecy series, starring Emily Watson and Travis Fimmel

The genesis of the Bene Gesserit is outlined in this prequel story to the Dune Cycle.

We haven't heard the last of it. After having exploded the counters at the cinema with 407 million dollars at the international box office for Duneand 700 million for Dune: Part 2the literary saga initiated by Frank Herbert takes control of the small screen with Dune: Prophecythe series of Bene Gesserit.

The Reverend Mothers, the Sisters, we know them under the names of Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam (Charlotte Rampling) and Margot Fenring (Léa Seydoux). Together, they form a feminine and matriarchal order called the Bene Gesserit. Powerful, dangerous and manipulative, throughout the centuries they have exercised political and religious influence in the Imperium, learning to exercise control and mastery to better control the strings of power and the bloodlines of the Great Houses until carry out their secret genetic program – the creation of the supreme being Kwisatz haderach.

A thousand years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, the Bene Gesserit did not yet exist but a community of omnipotent women gathered to forge their destiny…

After experiencing numerous twists and turns and a complete facelift, the series adapted from the prequel novel The Community of Sisterswritten by Brian Herbertson of the novelist taking up the torch, and by Kevin J.Anderson (also assuming the role of co-producer here) offers an intriguing first trailer.

“The Community of Sisters above all else.” Visually, spectators find the paste of Denis Villeneuve (who is not involved in the series) with his immense sets, his meticulously designed costumes and his way of showing the use of the shield during duels, the power of the Voice and their domination by sex. The voice-over, that of Valya Harkonnen played by Emily Watson (Breaking the Waves) And Jessica Barden (The End of this F***ing World) in his youth, recalls the position of the sisterhood near the noble houses and announces a coming evil.

The Sisters' ascension begins with a marriage alliance that appears to mark the beginning of the Bene Gesserit genetic program. “We are playing at being God and we will be judged for it”, warns one of them. How far will their plan go?
