From Spider-Man to Shakespeare: Tom Holland will play Romeo and Juliet

The Marvel star actor will return to the theater this summer in London for a few weeks.

Back to basics for Tom Holland. The British actor, who began his career on stage in the role of Billy Elliotthe West End musical, will soon be back in a London theater, this time playing Shakespeare!

THE Spiderman from Marvel will play Romeo this summer, in a new event production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Jamie Lloyd. The play will not be a costume classic, but “a thrilling new take on Shakespeare’s immortal tale of wordsmiths, rhymers, lovers and fighters.”

“Tom Holland is one of the most talented and exciting young actors in the world. It’s an honor to welcome him back to the West End” comments Lloyd in a press release.

Tom Holland will be seen on stage during a limited series of performances, spread over 12 weeks, starting in May. We do not yet know who will play Juliette opposite him.
