Full success for Fallout on Prime Video: the series does almost as well as The Rings of Power

The streaming service announces “65 million spectators” in just sixteen days. Who started the series? Who finished it?

Did you like the misadventures of Lucy (Ella Purnell), Maximus (Aaron Moten), The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) and all the others? You will be there for season 2 that Prime Video has already announced (and of which Jonathan Nolan talks to us here) ? fallout, an 8-episode show designed by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, which humorously adapts the famous Bethesda video games, is currently a hit. The streaming service has even just published a press release to announce that it had attracted “more than 65 million viewers worldwide on Prime Video in its first 16 days.”

Fallout: do you have to be a gamer to make a good video game adaptation?

Said like that, it's huge: alone The Rings of Power, Amazon's most expensive series, has done better so far on this platform. But how does the studio calculate these views? Is this the number of viewers who started the series? Who have seen at least one episode? Or only those who have already completed it? The press release does not say more about how to count the public among its subscribers, but still specifies two interesting elements:

  • fallout is the most-watched title of all time on Prime Video among adults 18-34 in the first 16 days.
  • A true global success, more than 60% of the public fallout is based overseas, with outstanding performance in the UK, France and Brazil.
