George RR Martin saw the start of season 2 of House of the Dragon: “It’s shocking!”
For the writer, these two episodes are “simply great… Although dark. Note, they will be very dark!”
We only have the right to the trailer… But he has already seen the first episodes! Never stingy with comments on his personal blog, George RR Martin revealed this week that he has seen the first two episodes of the next season of House of the Dragon. So what did he think?
For the other of Game of Thrones, this start of season 2 of House of the Dragon East “powerful, moving, heartbreaking and overwhelming.”
The author admits that he is “hardly objective” since it is his “own work”, he who is also credited as executive producer of the series. “But I have to say that I found both episodes simply brilliant. (And they’re not even finished yet). Although dark. Note, they will be very dark! They might even make you cry. (I didn’t cry myself, but one of my friends cried…)”, Martin says.
In the process, George RR Martin says that the producers of the series are already looking into the sequel and seasons 3 and 4 of House of the Dragon. The writer thus “spent two days locked in a room” with showrunner Ryan Condal and the writers of the series to discuss these upcoming seasons that have not yet been officially ordered.
These conversationswere lively and fun discussions, and we did a good job… even if two days was not enough. There is such a long way to go… I’m not sure 20 days would have been enough“.
Season 2 of House of the Dragon will be on view in summer 2024.
