Netflix reveals behind the scenes of the interview with Prince Andrew, involved in the Epstein affair.

In Scoopscreenwriters Peter Moffat (Silk, Your Honor…) and Geoff Bussetil, (Agent Stone) accompanied by director Philip Martin (Inspector Wallander's Investigations), go behind the scenes of a show which had a huge impact, helping to bring down one of the most famous figures in the United Kingdom: Prince Andrew. Gillian Anderson (X Files) plays the journalist who forced him to admit his wrongs, Rufus Sewell (The Man in the High Castle) plays Andrew of York, and alongside them we also recognize Billie Piper (Penny Dreadful) and Connor Swindells (which marks his reunion with the star of Sex Education).

Here is the official synopsis and trailer for this film expected on the platform on April 5.

“One hour on TV can change everything… But how did THIS interview come to fruition? Gillian Anderson, Keeley Hawes, Billie Piper and Rufus Sewell star in this film inspired by the disastrous interview of Prince Andrew for the BBC's Newsnight.”

Are the Sex Education posters inspired by those of Lars Von Trier's Nymphomaniac?

Netflix definitely has a sense of timing. At a time when everyone is wondering where Kate Middleton is, and why the British royal monarchy took care to create a family photo from scratch rather than giving reassuring news about Prince William's wife, the platform at N rouge looks at another scandal that recently affected Buckingham Palace: the resignation of Prince Andrew from his public commitments, as well as the loss of his title of“royal highness” at the request of his mother Elizabeth II.

When it was discovered that the little brother of King Charles III was involved in the Epstein affair (to whom the same streaming service recently dedicated a documentary series), he was forced to acknowledge the accusations of a woman, a prostitute when she was a minor by the American businessman. Faced with the scandal, he agreed to record an interview with the BBC, but once in front of journalist Emily Maitlis, he was unable to deny the fact that his interlocutor's investigation was so solid.

It is this story which will be told in detail in the British film, to be discovered in a few days on Netflix.
