“God bless America”: terrifying and impressive trailer for Civil War by Alex Garland

The United States is falling apart in this (hopefully) sci-fi film that stars Kristen Dunst, Wagner Moura, Jesse Plemons and Nick Offerman.

After Men in 2022, Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Annihilation and the series Devs) comes back in force with Civil War. A large-scale film which quite simply recounts the fall of the American empire following a new civil war ravaging a large part of the country. It is understood that 19 states have seceded and the United States government is attempting to regain control by force. Bombings, shooting into the crowd… The situation is out of control. In Civil Warwe visibly follow a group of journalists, notably composed of Kristen Dunst and Wagner Moura, who try to continue to do their work in the midst of chaos.

The trailer is very impressive and perfectly terrifying, with Nick Offerman as a president who won’t give up and Jesse Plemons in the shoes of a soldier who hunts down “good” Americans. Watch below:

For now, Civil War does not have a specific release date but it should arrive in cinemas in spring 2024, in IMAX in equipped theaters.
