Godzilla Vs. Russell: the trailer for the MonsterVerse series

Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell face the king of the monsters, in two different eras.

Here it is again Godzilla. After the confrontation with Kong, the MonsterVerse continues, but this time on Apple TV+with the brand new series Monarch: Legacy of Monsterswhich will return – as its name suggests – to the origins of the secret organization Monarch.

Unveiled in preview at New York Comic Con yesterday, this spin-off takes place just after the events of the first Godzilla (2014), while the world is traumatized by the destruction of San Francisco. Humanity has just learned that monsters exist on Earth and can destroy everything without ever being stopped. Monarch already knew that. Since the organization has existed since the 1950s, since the first traces of Godzilla were noted… It’s Wyatt Russell who plays one of the founders of the organization in the past. And his father, Kurt Russellplays the same character, 50 years later and 50 years older.

The official synopsis details: “After the epic battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shock of discovering that the monsters are real, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” follows two siblings in their father’s footsteps to discover the connections of their family with the secret organization known as the Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately into the parallel world of army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell) , set in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by Shaw’s knowledge. This saga – spanning three generations – reveals closely guarded secrets and how epic, life-changing events can reverberate In our lifes.”

Remember that the MonsterVerse of Legendary Entertainment started in 2014 with Godzilla and continuing with Kong: Skull Island in 2017, then Godzilla II: King of the Monsters in 2019 and Godzilla vs. Kong in 2021. It will continue in 2024 with Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

The first two episodes of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will be available on Friday, November 17 on Apple TV+ (and Canal+ in France), followed by one episode each week until January 12.
