Godzilla x Kong: the new trailer shows it all!

Beware of spoilers with this new very detailed trailer, which tells the essence of the film in three minutes.

“The Titans were the guardians of nature. And the great apes became the protectors of humanity..” Monarch seems to have understood where the giant creatures of the “Monsterverse” come from. And at the beginning of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, a certain balance has been found on Earth. Godzilla continues to patrol beneath the oceans, while Kong lives peacefully in the center of the planet. But suddenly, a strange signal disturbs them. Something terrible is happening. “Something that scares them“, worries Rebecca Hall – back in the costume of scientist Ilene Andrews – in the all-new trailer for the film which says it all. In three minutes, the essence of Godzilla x Kong passes before our eyes. We understand that Men will follow Kong into the underworld only to discover that the signal is in fact a call to war, launched by a new creature even stronger and more powerful than the Monkey King. “Kong can’t stop him alone!” writes the trailer, which thus paves the way for its association with Godzilla.

The giant orange-colored primate with a terrifying mouth will be a sort of phenomenal Orangutan, at the head of his own army of giant apes and who clearly intends to do battle (with humanity?). He will be equipped with a lethal weapon, a gigantic flail capable of causing enormous damage from a distance! Moreover, it seems that the director drew his inspiration from the animated The attack of the Titansas this ape-like villain looks like “Titan Bestial” throughout this trailer…

In any case, he will succeed in tearing off Kong’s arm during their first face to face. Cared for by Men, the great ape will have the right to “an update“: a new bio-mechanical papatte which should give him extra power. But obviously not yet enough to beat his psychopathic rival. So Kong is going to team up with Godzilla! “They don’t need to love each other. They just have to work together.” we hear in this trailer, which confirms an association inspired by The lethal Weapon for the two giants, who will certainly end up overcoming the other animal, during a hyper-spectacular Act III (in Rio?) which will destroy everything in its path…

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will be directed again by Adam Wingard. In the cast, we will see Rebecca Hall with Brian Tyree Henry and Dan Steven. No Millie Bobby Brown this time. The screenplay is written by Terry Rossio and Simon Barrett. Released on April 10, 2024 in cinemas in France.
