Good Doctor will end: season 7 will be the last

“Playing Dr. Shaun Murphy was a huge privilege…”

End of service for Dr. Shaun Murphy. In the operating room for a decade, the doctor played by Freddie Highmore will hang up his blouse. The next season 7 of Good Doctor will be the last, ABC officially announced today. The American channel will not order season 8 and the drama launched in 2017 will end.

“Playing Dr. Shaun Murphy has been an immense privilege and one of the most remarkable and rewarding experiences of my life”, reacted the actor. “I will always be grateful to everyone who made this show possible…”

Creator David Shore and producers explain that “Good Doctor has been a unique opportunity, but it’s time to say goodbye. We are incredibly proud of the work we have accomplished and the message we have been privileged to be a part of.” It is therefore they who visibly wanted to put an end to the story of Shaun Murphy, who will begin the final season with his baby and a new family life with Lea, as evidenced by the first images of this trailer (here -below).

This seventh and now final season will begin on February 20 in the United States. The grand finale of Good Doctor will therefore be seen next May. In France, the series is broadcast by TF1.
