Guillaume Canet doubles Emma Stone at the French box office

Poor creatures had started in first position of the French weekly ranking last week, but lost the throne with the arrival ofA roll of the dice. Yvan Attal’s thriller, carried among others by Guillaume Canet, was seen by 221,196 curious people compared to 130,129 for the film by Yorgos Lanthimos. Which still accumulates 316,697 entries in two weeks. It should be noted that the French film is available in 560 cinemas compared to 278 for its American competitor.

Attal has already beaten his previous achievement, Human Thingswhich had reached 182,074 countermarks in 2021. A throw of the dice starts a little below My stupid dogwhich he had released two years earlier and which attracted 290,256 people in its first week, then 500,000 in all.

Preserve And Wonka, which were already in a good place, then remained in the top 5. Offered on more than 600 screens each, the comedy with Didier Bourdon and the musical led by Timothée Chalamet are still above the symbolic bar of 100,000 admissions per week. They have 1.6 and 3.5 million tickets respectively.

Two new releases then start, and a final one closes the ranking: May December, Everything except you And The Last of the Jews. Todd Haynes’ film with Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore attracted 118,770 spectators in 207 theaters including its previews, the rom-com with Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, 99,314 in four more cinemas, and the film with Agnès Jaoui , 64,165 on only 113 screens.
