Happiness is in the meadow: Eddy Mitchell left his mark as a bon vivant

On this public holiday, what if we had a little good time? Etienne Chatiliez's comedy is back on television.

Happiness is in the meadow, will return this Thursday evening on the Gulli family channel. This comedy by Etienne Chatiliez was released in 1995, 7 years after the success of Life is a long quiet river. It brought joy to nearly 5 million spectators and since then it has amused millions of people with each rebroadcast.

Eddy Mitchell notably left his mark as a bon vivant, brightening up the daily life of “rabbit”, his not very happy friend played by Michel Serrault. Originally, the director wanted to offer the two main roles to Gérard Depardieu and Jean Carmet, but the latter died just before filming. The following year, Mitchell and Serrault each received a César, the first for Happiness is in the meadowand the second for another film, Nelly and Mr. Arnaud.
